How do I refresh my hair the next day(s)? This is a question we get a lot. And today we will explain it all in detail.
This is also known as your washing day. We highly recommend to do a deep treatment on day 1. We really love the Shea Moisture deep treatments. For example the Manuka Honey one. A good deep treatment will hydrate and boost your curls and your curls will be more managable and easier to style. We will not go into details about how to style your hair on day 1 because we have some awesome instruction tutorials where we show you step by step how to style your hair on the first day. Make sure to always sleep with a satin bonnet or a satin pillow case. This will make refreshing your hair a lot easier since you will have less frizzies.
Remember our motto: less is more? Day 2 is all about working with the product that is already in your hair. The fun thing about our products is that you can re-activate the product with some water. No need to pile on more products. This will only suffocate your hair and cause build-up! Use our continuous mistspray to re-wet your hair and re-activate the product.
How do you check if you still got enough product in your hair? Simple: if you touch your hair and it feels slippery when its wet then there is still enough product in the hair. All you need to do is spray your hair with some water and use the “praying hand method” to smooth the hair and eliminate frizz. Scrunch your hair carefully and diffuse with cold air or the lowest heat lowest speed setting. And tadaaaa: your gel cast is back! Scrunch out the crunch and you are good to go! If you still feel like you need some products on the 2nd day: use some gel mixed with water since this product is super light weight and will not build up as fast as the milk.
Day 3,4,5 :
On this day your hair can probably use a little bit more moisture. So how do you refresh your hair?
If you’re a wavy girl with finer hair do not refresh with the milk. This will weigh your hair down since there is already milk in your hair. Use the mistspray to re-wet your hair. Then mix a dime size of gel with water in the palms of your hand and use the “praying method” to smooth the hair and eliminate frizz. Scrunch your hair to enhance your curls again. Then diffuse with cold air or the lowest heat lowest speed setting. When your hair is dry: Scrunch out the crunch and that’s it!
If you’re curly girl with low porosity hair then this the way to refresh your hair:
Part your hair in two section and re-wet each section with the Curlygirlmovement continuous mist spray. Then use a dime size amount of gel for each side. Mix this in the palm of your hands with some water and use the “praying method” to smooth the hair and eliminate frizz. Then diffuse with cold air or the lowest heat lowest speed setting. When your hair is dry: Scrunch out the gel cast and that’s it!
If you're a curlygirl with tight curls and/or colored curls then this is the way to refresh your hair:
Part you hair in 2 sections. This hair needs extra moisture so use a dime size of the styling milk on each section. Make sure to mix the milk with water first in the palms of your hands. This way you will get less build up. Use the " praying method" to apply the milk. After that part your hair in 4 sections. Use a dime size amount of gel on each part. Mix the gel in the palm of your hands with some water and use the “praying method” to smooth the hair and eliminate frizz. If you have the time to air dry please do. If you're in a hurry and you want to diffuse your hair make sure to use cold air or the lowest heat lowest speed setting. When your hair is dry: Scrunch out the gel cast and your good to go.
Depending on your hair type and porosity you can follow this routine for the upcoming days. Once you feel like you're hair is too greasy or has too much build up it is time to wash again.
